Loss of Power
Just after takeoff, the right engine experienced a loss of power at an altitude of approximately 450 feet. The pilot responded by feathering the right propeller. Despite this action, the pilot was unable to maintain altitude.
Collision
The aircraft subsequently collided with terrain about three miles south of the airport.
Post-Accident Actions
Prior to the arrival of investigators, the pilot dismantled and moved the aircraft. This action may have destroyed evidence relevant to determining the cause of the power loss.
Investigation Findings
During the investigation, no preimpact part failure or malfunction was found. The lack of evidence due to the dismantling and movement of the aircraft prevented a definitive determination of the cause of the power loss.
