Accident Overview
An aircraft crashed after completing several high-speed, low-level passes over residential areas. Witnesses reported that the aircraft suddenly initiated a steep climb over a tree line. At the apex of the climb, it appeared to decelerate, briefly leveled off, and then descended nose-first into the ground.
Post-Impact Fire
Upon impact, the aircraft burst into flames. The fire consumed much of the wreckage, but investigators were able to examine the debris.
Investigation Findings
No evidence of an in-flight structural failure or component separation was found. The engine was removed and subjected to a teardown inspection, which did not reveal any malfunction or failure of the powerplant.
Conclusion
The investigation did not establish a specific cause for the accident.
