Incident Overview
A student pilot was practicing touch-and-go landings when the aircraft approached at a higher than normal airspeed. After touchdown, the aircraft bounced on the runway three times before the pilot decided to go around. During the go-around, control was lost, and the aircraft crashed on the left side of the runway.
Sequence of Events
The approach airspeed was reported as higher than normal. The initial landing was followed by three bounces. The pilot then initiated a go-around. Shortly after, the pilot stated that control was lost. The aircraft departed the runway to the left side.
Impact and Resting Position
The left wing tip made contact with the ground approximately 30 feet left of the runway edge. The propeller struck the ground soon after. The aircraft slid to a stop about 86 feet from the first point of impact.
