Event Sequence
The owner and his son, both pilots, began a midfield takeoff from their private dirt airstrip, which was on soft, uneven terrain. The son reported that near the end of the strip, power was "cut." Investigation Findings
Investigation revealed that the aircraft had become airborne and the right main gear strut struck a post about three feet above the ground.
