Accident Details
The pilot was attempting to land close to the approach end of the runway. The approach was made with full flaps at a speed of 85 mph. During the approach, the rate of descent became excessive, and before recovery could be affected, the aircraft collided with a fence near the runway threshold.

The accident site was located at an elevation of 4400 ft MSL. The density altitude at the time of the accident was 5500 ft.
Pilot's Remarks
Following the accident, the pilot stated that he should not have 'dragged' the heavily loaded aircraft under the existing conditions.
