Accident Details
The pilot of N4613S was conducting a visual flight rules (VFR) approach to the DeWitt, Arkansas Municipal Airport. Snow had been removed from the runway and was piled up on the approach end of runway 35.
Sequence of Events
During touchdown, the nose gear of the aircraft contacted the piled up snow and ice, which damaged the nose gear. After the nose gear touched down on the runway, the pilot was unable to maintain directional control. The aircraft subsequently departed the runway into an area of snow, where the nose gear collapsed.

The aircraft sustained substantial damage.
