Accident Details
During the process of moving a helicopter from a hangar, its right skid slipped off the concrete helipad and became stuck in the mud. In an attempt to free the skid, the pilot brought the aircraft to a hover. According to a witness, the left skid then became airborne and contacted the helipad several times. As the skid eventually became dislodged, the pilot lost control of the aircraft. The helicopter rolled and contacted the terrain, coming to rest on its right side. The aircraft was destroyed by the impact and a subsequent post-impact fire.
