Incident Overview
A pilot who had not flown for over five years was conducting multiple touch-and-go landings to prepare for a biennial flight review. During a landing rollout, the engine ceased operating. The pilot exited the aircraft and began hand-propping the engine. The engine started, and the aircraft crossed the runway, striking an aircraft hangar that contained an aircraft. Both the hangar and the aircraft inside were damaged. After the aircraft came to rest, a fire ensued, totally destroying the aircraft.
Pilot Actions
Following the engine failure, the pilot chose to hand-prop the engine while on the runway. This action resulted in the aircraft moving uncontrolled across the runway and colliding with a hangar. The pilot did not file an accident report.
Damage
The impact damaged both the hangar and the aircraft inside. The subsequent fire completely destroyed the aircraft involved in the accident.
