Accident Details
After departure, the aircraft could not outclimb the rapidly rising terrain adjacent to the runway. The airplane subsequently struck trees and then the terrain.
Wreckage Examination
The wreckage examination disclosed that the spark plugs were fouled due to an overly rich mixture, and the cylinders exhibited low compression.

Review of the airport information indicated that the topography hazards were not described.

The pilot's information revealed a lack of training and experience in high altitude airport operations and mountain flying.
