Accident Sequence
During a sightseeing flight, immediately after takeoff, the helicopter began to spin to the right. The pilot attempted to correct the situation by applying left rudder, but the helicopter continued to spin. The pilot then reduced the throttle and adjusted the collective, which caused the spin to stop. However, at that time, the helicopter was at a low altitude over water. A wave caught the helicopter's skid, causing the helicopter to enter the water and roll to the left.
Inspection
An inspection of the helicopter did not reveal any mechanical failures or malfunctions.
