Report Details
The pilot had landed at Southeast Greensboro earlier and subsequently departed on runway 35, remaining in the traffic pattern for another landing. The touchdown occurred within the first 100 feet of the downsloped runway at an estimated speed of 70 miles per hour. After touchdown, the flaps were retracted.
Pilot Statement
The pilot reported that a gust of wind and the downsloped runway caused the airplane to become airborne again. Control inputs intended to correct a drift were ineffective. The aircraft subsequently collided with a pine tree located approximately 50 feet from the edge of the runway.

The U.S. Government flight information publication for Southeast Greensboro indicates that practice landings are not permitted on runway 35.
