Incident Overview
A restricted-category agricultural aircraft experienced an accident during departure from a dirt runway at a private airstrip. After reaching an altitude of approximately ten feet, the aircraft impacted into a corn field. The pilot was not injured in the occurrence.
Aircraft Damage and Chemical Spill
The aircraft sustained substantial damage as a result of the impact. Additionally, the load of ethyl parathion, a toxic liquid chemical, was spilled from the aircraft during the accident sequence.
Inspection Findings
An on-site inspection of the aircraft revealed no mechanical failure. The examination did not identify any pre-existing mechanical issues that could have contributed to the accident.
