Accident Details
The pilot was hovering the helicopter approximately 3 feet above ground level over a field intended for an outdoor concert. The purpose of the maneuver was to dry the field using the rotor wash from the helicopter. As the pilot navigated the aircraft between barrels, it inadvertently moved backward into one of the barrels. The tail rotor struck the barrel, resulting in the severing of a blade.
