Accident Overview
A Cessna 182 and a Beech A36 collided in midair near Queen City Airport. The Cessna had just released parachute jumpers at 4,500 feet MSL and was descending in a right turn. The Beech A36 had departed from Queen City Airport and was in the traffic pattern preparing to land when the collision occurred.
Collision Details
According to the investigation, the Cessna pilot was descending below 1,500 feet MSL when his aircraft struck the Beech A36. The collision resulted in the destruction of both aircraft. The Cessna crashed into a paved parking lot of a shopping center, while the Beech crashed into a new car dealership's parking lot.
Aftermath
Both airplanes were destroyed in the accident. Additionally, several cars in the dealership's parking lot were damaged.
