A Beech B35 airplane was involved in a forced landing after the initial takeoff climb, during which it collided with trees. The pilot reported a loss of power at approximately 100 to 150 feet above ground level (AGL). After maneuvering the airplane toward an open area, the aircraft struck a tree, veered sideways, landed hard, and slid to a stop.
Aircraft Fuel and Engine Examination
The aircraft had been serviced with automotive fuel under an approved Supplemental Type Certificate (STC). A post-accident examination of the engine revealed no damage to the power plant. The engine was subsequently tested using fuel from the airplane's wing tanks, but the engine failure could not be duplicated during the test.
