What happened
Following the landing phase of the flight, the aircraft began its taxi procedure on the ramp area. During this maneuver, the pilot's attention was briefly diverted inward toward the cockpit interior. This lapse in external situational awareness coincided with the left main landing gear wheel entering a hole located within the paved surface.
The sudden drop or obstruction caused the pilot to lose directional control of the aircraft. As the airplane departed its intended path, the right wing made contact with the ground. Observers at the scene noted that the taxi speed appeared to be faster than normal for the conditions, which may have contributed to the severity of the incident.
The investigation
Investigation into the event focused on the mechanical interaction between the landing gear and the ramp surface. Witnesses provided accounts regarding the operational speed of the aircraft during the taxi phase. No further mechanical failures or structural defects were cited as primary contributors beyond the environmental hazard of the hole in the ramp.
