Event Description
Shortly after takeoff, during a left crosswind turn, the airplane stalled and began an uncontrolled descent, eventually impacting the ground. No mechanical malfunctions were discovered or reported by the pilot.
Pilot Report
The pilot stated that at 200 feet above ground level, he turned downwind to the left. The airplane would not maintain altitude, so the nose was lowered in an attempt to increase airspeed. Despite this adjustment, the descent continued. The pilot then raised the nose to clear power lines. Impact subsequently occurred in a nose-low attitude.
Environmental Conditions
Another pilot in the area reported wind gusts and turbulence, which may have affected the flight conditions.
