Incident Overview
While operating at cruise flight in instrument meteorological conditions (IMC), the right engine experienced a partial loss of power. The pilot stated that while he was assessing the issue with the right engine, the left engine also lost partial power.
Pilot Actions
The pilot did not follow the manufacturer's single-engine procedures or the engine ice protection procedures.
Forced Landing
Unable to maintain altitude, the pilot initiated a forced landing. During the landing roll in an open field, the airplane collided with a ditch.
Weather Information
Weather forecasts had cautioned of moderate rime icing in the precipitation.
Post-Incident Examination
Both engines were subsequently test run and found to operate within normal parameters.
