Incident Details
During the initial takeoff roll from the agricultural work strip, the airplane experienced a partial loss of engine power. In response, the pilot initiated a fertilizer dump of the 1,800-pound load as the aircraft descended straight ahead.
The airplane touched down in a soft, wet field. During the forced landing roll, it collided with a dirt bank, continued forward, and nosed over.
Engine Examination
Post-incident examination of the engine found a cracked number nine cylinder at a spark plug hole. The spark plug could be lifted from the hole by hand.
Summary
The airplane sustained damage from the nosed-over landing following the partial power loss and forced landing in unfavorable terrain.
