Takeoff
The pilot of an airplane operating above its maximum gross weight conducted the takeoff run on grass adjacent to a paved runway. The flaps were not deployed for the takeoff.
Flight
After becoming airborne, the pilot attempted to keep the airplane in ground effect. However, the runway sloped downward, causing the airplane to settle.
Emergency Landing
Realizing that the airplane would not clear trees ahead, the pilot initiated an emergency landing in a parking lot situated between an apartment house complex and a church.
Impact
During the landing roll, the airplane struck a garbage dumpster. The impact crushed the right side of the cabin.
