What happened
The pilot was operating an aircraft on a wet sod runway for a crop dusting mission. The airplane was loaded with a full capacity of chemicals at the start of the takeoff roll. As the aircraft accelerated down the strip, it failed to achieve the necessary airspeed for rotation and liftoff within the available distance.
Recognizing the inability to become airborne normally, the pilot initiated an emergency procedure to dump the chemical load to reduce weight. Following the release of the cargo, the airplane did manage to break ground and fly briefly. However, the climb performance was insufficient to clear the tree line surrounding the airfield. The aircraft impacted the trees during the initial climbout phase.
