What happened
The accident occurred while the aircraft was operating at a low altitude inside a canyon environment. According to the rear-seat passenger, who held a commercial pilot certificate, the situation deteriorated rapidly as they navigated the confined airspace.
At one point, the passenger instructed the front-seat pilot to execute a right turn to exit the canyon. The pilot acknowledged this instruction but appeared unable to comply effectively. Just before the loss of control, the passenger observed the pilot positioned against the left forward side of the cockpit, verbally expressing distress by repeating that he could not help himself.
Following this moment, the aircraft's wings began to rock violently. This was immediately followed by an abrupt and steep left turn. The aircraft subsequently impacted a mountainside located at an elevation of approximately 4,500 feet, which was about 200 feet below the canyon rim. The terrain slope at the impact site was estimated to be between 25 and 30 degrees.

Investigation into the mechanical condition of the aircraft revealed no evidence of pre-impact failures or malfunctions that would have hindered normal operation. The focus of the inquiry remained on the operational circumstances and pilot performance during the canyon flight.
