Incident Overview
A student pilot was practicing takeoffs, landings, go-arounds, and emergency procedures with an instructor in preparation for a solo flight. According to the instructor, the first takeoff and landing were completed successfully. The second takeoff resulted in a go-around.
Sequence of Events
A witness reported that during the third landing attempt, the airplane bounced. The pilot then added power to execute a go-around. However, the airplane bounced a second time and veered off the side of the runway, subsequently colliding with a parked airplane.
Contributing Factors
The instructor stated that there was no mechanical malfunction. However, the wind had increased to 14 knots, and a wind gust may have played a role in the accident.
