Accident Narrative
During the departure from a 2,800-foot grass strip, the pilot reported normal acceleration and liftoff. Shortly after becoming airborne, at an estimated altitude of 20 feet, the pilot stated, '...I suddenly lost lift.' Unable to maintain altitude, the airplane collided with a fence post in a field located off the departure end of the runway. The airplane subsequently crashed into a soybean field.
Investigation
During the postaccident investigation, no preimpact mechanical difficulties were claimed by the pilot or discovered. The pilot did not report any anomalies prior to the loss of lift.
