Event Description
During the landing rollout, the aircraft began to drift to the left side of the runway. The pilot attempted to correct the drift by applying full right rudder and right brake. Despite these inputs, the aircraft continued to the left, departing the runway surface. It then slid for approximately 100 feet before the nose wheel caught on the terrain, causing the aircraft to nose over.
Post-Inspection Findings
A subsequent inspection of the aircraft revealed that a small piece of gravel had become wedged between the left brake disk and the brake housing. This obstruction held the left wheel in a locked position, which prevented it from rotating freely. The locked wheel is consistent with the observed inability to control the drift direction.
Conclusion
The incident resulted from the presence of foreign material in the braking system. No information was provided regarding injuries, aircraft damage, or other factors.
