An aircraft bounced after a hard landing, stalled on full power application, and struck the runway edge due to gusty wind conditions.

What happened

The incident occurred during the final phase of flight. The airplane touched down heavily on the runway surface, resulting in a significant bounce that lifted the aircraft back into the air. In response to the bounce, the pilot applied full engine power to regain control and continue the approach.

Despite the application of maximum thrust, the aircraft entered a stall condition. This loss of lift led to an uncontrolled descent. The airplane impacted the runway surface again and subsequently veered to the left side of the paved area. During this excursion, the aircraft struck a visual approach slope indicator located adjacent to the runway.

Post-incident reporting indicated that weather conditions were a significant factor. The pilot reported experiencing winds gusting to 30 knots from the south during the maneuver.

Probable cause

The pilot's failure to maintain control of the aircraft following a hard landing and bounce, which resulted in a stall, while operating in gusty wind conditions.
