Incident
During cruise flight, a fire erupted beneath the cabin floor, directly beneath the right front seat. The flight crew landed the aircraft and extinguished the fire using the airplane's fire extinguisher.
Examination Findings
Post-incident examination of the airplane revealed that an electrical wire had been secured with a tie wrap to a fuel line. The insulation on the electrical wire had chafed through, and a hole was present in the fuel line. The source of the work that led to this condition could not be determined.
The fire originated in the area where the chafed electrical wire contacted the fuel line. No other facts about the aircraft, occupants, or injuries are specified in the source.
