A helicopter struck electrical power lines and came to rest on an asphalt road after a sudden descent during a landing approach at a fairground.

What happened

During an approach to land in an open field at a fairground, witnesses observed a helicopter circling overhead without apparent issue. As the aircraft began its descent, it reached approximately 10 feet above the ground before executing a right turn and coming to a stop.

At that moment, the aircraft dropped with its tail low to the ground and bounced forcefully on its nose section. Upon becoming airborne again, the helicopter was spinning and moving toward witnesses. The aircraft subsequently struck electrical power lines and came to rest on an asphalt road, approximately 90 feet from the initial point of impact.
