Incident Overview
A pilot reported that the aircraft's engine experienced power fluctuations during flight. Upon scanning the engine gauges, the pilot observed no fuel pressure indication. The pilot then set up for a forced landing, during which the engine lost power completely.
Landing Attempt and Damage
During the forced landing attempt, the pilot maneuvered the airplane over a set of powerlines. Following the maneuver, the airplane nosed over, resulting in substantial damage to the aircraft.
Post-Incident Inspection
An inspection of the airplane revealed that there was sufficient fuel on board. The gravity feed fuel flow to the firewall was verified, and the vent system was checked. Examination of the engine and the low pressure fuel pump revealed no evidence of preimpact mechanical malfunction.
