What happened
During the landing rollout phase, the pilot noticed flames emanating from the right engine nacelle. He immediately brought the aircraft to a stop on the runway and exited the cockpit. An attempt was made to extinguish the fire manually, but this effort was unsuccessful. The fire continued to spread, consuming the nacelle, the inboard wing section, and part of the fuselage. The local fire department eventually arrived and successfully extinguished the blaze.
The investigation
Investigators examined the wreckage to determine the origin of the fire. However, due to the extent of the damage, they were unable to identify a specific mechanical failure or external cause for the ignition.
