Landing and Rollout
The aircraft touched down approximately one-third of the way along the 5,000-foot runway. After touchdown, the aircraft rolled for about two-thirds of the remaining runway distance before the pilot began to apply the brakes. The pilot then applied full brake pressure and pumped the brakes, but reported no braking action. The passenger also applied the brakes on their side, but that was ineffective. The passenger stated that the aircraft touched down "a little bit fast."
Post-Accident Inspection
An inspection of the aircraft and the accident site revealed no discrepancies with the brake system. No flat spots were found on either main tire, and there were no visible skid marks on the runway. The runway surface was dry and free of foreign material. Winds were from the northeast at less than 5 knots.
Brake System Condition
Despite the pilot's report of no braking action, the brake system was found to be fully functional. The absence of flat spots and skid marks indicates that the brakes may not have been effectively applied or that the aircraft's speed and remaining distance were insufficient to produce visible evidence of braking.
