Incident Summary
A pilot conducted single-engine landing practice to maintain currency. On the fourth or fifth landing, the pilot reduced the left engine to zero thrust and executed a short approach from the right-hand traffic pattern. According to a pilot/passenger in the right front seat, a couple of seconds after rolling out onto final approach, the airplane touched down firmly. The airplane landed in a right bank, and the right wing and right horizontal stabilizer contacted the runway surface.
Examination Findings
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) reported observing marks at the approach end of the runway that were consistent with impact marks found on the bottom surface of the airplane's right wing, right horizontal stabilizer, and right main landing gear wheel. Subsequent examination of the airplane's landing gear extension, retraction, and down locking mechanisms showed them to be functional.
