What happened
The accident occurred while the airplane was conducting a landing operation on runway 07. During the rollout phase, the aircraft began to drift toward the left side of the paved surface. The pilot attempted to correct the deviation by applying rudder input; however, this control action did not successfully keep the aircraft aligned with the runway centerline.
Consequently, the airplane departed the left edge of the runway. As it continued off the pavement, the nose section struck the ground, causing the aircraft to pitch forward and roll over. The final resting position was inverted on its back. Post-incident inspection revealed no evidence of mechanical failure or malfunction that would have contributed to the loss of directional control during the landing.
The investigation
Investigation of the event focused on the sequence of events leading to the departure from the runway and the subsequent structural damage. Examination confirmed that the aircraft nosed over and came to rest in an inverted attitude. The pilot's statement indicated that no mechanical difficulties were experienced with the airplane during the flight prior to the landing attempt.
