Incident Overview
A pilot reported that during cruise flight shortly after takeoff, the engine lost power. The subsequent forced landing was conducted on a golf course. During the landing, the airplane contacted a bench, and the landing gear collapsed.
Postaccident Inspection
A postaccident inspection of the aircraft revealed no mechanical anomalies that would have resulted in the loss of engine power.
Fuel Quantity
The forward fuel tank, which serves as the engine feed tank, contained approximately two to three gallons of fuel. The left wing tank held four gallons of fuel, while the right wing tank was full.
Damage
The airplane sustained damage from contacting the bench and the collapse of the landing gear.
