What happened
The incident occurred during the initial phase of flight at an airport where the runway surface was noted to be in poor condition. According to the pilot's report, the roughness of the pavement contributed to the difficulty in maintaining control and speed during the ground roll.
As the airplane accelerated down the runway, it lifted off the ground before reaching a safe flying speed. Recognizing that the airspeed was insufficient to sustain level flight or climb, the pilot made the decision to abort the takeoff immediately. During this aborted maneuver, the aircraft left the paved surface and traveled onto the terrain at the end of the runway.
