Incident Overview
During the second leg of an instructional flight, the flight instructor was performing a takeoff from runway 26. Wind conditions were reported from the west at 15 to 20 knots. Published airport information advised pilots of possible turbulence during west departures in strong winds.
Sequence of Events
The aircraft became airborne but then settled back onto the runway. After becoming airborne a second time, the instructor reported that the stall warning activated and the controls felt 'mushy.' The instructor aborted the takeoff.
Final Position
During the landing roll, the aircraft departed the right side of the runway, traversed down an incline, and came to rest in a lake.
