Accident Overview
During an aerial application flight, the pilot initiated a turn to reverse direction. During the maneuver, the pilot lost control of the airplane. The aircraft subsequently rolled inverted and impacted the terrain.
Witness Account
A witness who observed the flight reported hearing the engine during the spray run. The witness stated that the engine sounded normal, with no unusual noises noted.
Examination Findings
Following the accident, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) along with representatives from the airframe and engine manufacturers conducted an examination of the wreckage. The examination revealed no evidence of any preimpact failure or malfunction of the airframe or the engine. Additionally, the flap position was determined to be retracted at the time of impact.
