Incident Summary
A student pilot, cleared by the tower controller to land on runway 4, encountered challenging crosswind conditions during the final approach. The reported winds were 130 degrees at 15 knots. The pilot later stated that he had to employ the wing-low with opposite rudder method to a greater degree than ever before.
Sequence of Events
On touchdown, the right wing rose to an unacceptable angle. The pilot attempted to lower the wing and maintain directional control on the runway but ultimately lost control of the aircraft. The airplane subsequently departed the left side of the runway. As the aircraft moved off the paved surface, the tires sank, causing the aircraft to pitch forward and stop the engine. The aircraft then stood vertical for a moment before the wind appeared to blow it over.

The aircraft sustained damage consistent with a nose-over and subsequent rollover after departing the runway.
