Agricultural Aircraft Collision with Fence During Takeoff (N1008P)

Incident Overview and Load Details An agricultural aircraft was loaded with 2,400 pounds of fertilizer and 100 gallons of fuel when it collided with a six-foot-high fence at the end of a runway during takeoff. The aircraft subsequently flipped over. The pilot reported that the takeoff appeared normal and that no discrepancies with the engine or airframe were noted during taxi, run-up, or the takeoff roll. Before the collision, the pilot executed an emergency dump of the fertilizer. The aircraft reportedly lifted off at approximately 1,900 feet down a 2,800-foot-long runway but did not climb after lift-off. Similar aircraft with comparable loads under similar conditions were using approximately 80 percent of the available runway.
