Accident Details
The aircraft was being repositioned to its home base following a partial repaint. During the flight, while on short final to land, the engine lost power and the aircraft subsequently landed in a residential area.
Postaccident Examination
A postaccident examination of the fuel and ignition systems was conducted. The examination revealed that the fuel flow transducer was restricted. After several attempts, it was possible to blow air through the transducer, but with resistance. No foreign material was found in the fuel lines or blown from the transducer.
Component Testing
The fuel flow transducer was sent to the manufacturer of the fuel system for testing and met flow specifications. Following this, the component was sent to a testing laboratory for further examination. At the laboratory, the transducer was opened and examined. The interior, turbine, and bearing points appeared to be normal and functional.
