Incident Overview
Prior to departure, the pilot loaded the aircraft with 200 pounds of insecticide and 60 gallons of fuel. The first pass over the field was completed successfully. However, during the second pass, the pilot did not maintain as fast an airspeed.
Maneuver and Stalled Condition
As the pilot rolled out from the second pass, he pulled up over a 50-foot bluff. The aircraft then "mushed in or sank." Ridges were present on both sides, preventing a turn. The pilot attempted to fly up the ridge, but the aircraft stalled, impacting the terrain.
Ground Impact and Stopping
After impacting the ridge, the aircraft slid approximately 100 feet before coming to a stop.
