Radar Data
Radar tracking showed the airplane making a right climbing turn to 2,200 feet. Subsequently, an abrupt maneuver was observed, followed by a rapid descent into a residential area.
Aircraft and Pilot Qualifications
The airplane was equipped for instrument flight, including an autopilot. However, the pilot had no known instrument flight training.
Post-Accident Examination
Post-accident examinations of the airframe and engine failed to find evidence of any mechanical failures.
