During touch and go landings on a grass runway, a student pilot abruptly applied throttle and back-elevator, causing a stall warning and mushy flight. The CFI took over but the airplane impacted the ground nose first.

Incident Details

A certified flight instructor (CFI) and a student pilot were conducting touch and go landings and practicing emergency procedures on a 1,500-foot-long grass runway designated as Runway S. During one landing sequence, after the airplane touched down, the student pilot increased the throttle and abruptly pulled back on the yoke. As the airplane climbed to approximately 20 feet above the runway, the stall warning horn activated and the airplane became 'mushy' in flight characteristics.
