Incident Overview
According to witness observations, a Beech BE-55 aircraft maneuvered in front of another airplane during the landing approach sequence. The BE-55 subsequently descended toward a Cessna airplane that was on a low final approach for landing. The BE-55, described as traveling at a significantly higher speed, overtook the Cessna and made contact with the Cessna's vertical stabilizer and the upper portion of its fuselage.
Collision and Entanglement
Following the impact, witnesses reported that the Cessna's nose pitched upward to a nose-high attitude. The two airplanes became entangled together and continued as a single unit. The entangled aircraft then struck the ground in a right-wing-low attitude.

Upon initial ground contact, the combined aircraft structure bounced and rotated approximately 90 degrees to the right before coming to rest.
