Incident Overview
A private pilot, accompanied by a flight instructor, was performing night touch and go landings. The first five landings were executed without incident. For the sixth landing, the private pilot requested to perform a short field landing. During this landing, the airplane touched down hard on the right main gear.
Aircraft Damage
Post-incident examination of the airplane revealed damage to the right wing spar, strut, and skin. No other damage was reported.

Neither the private pilot nor the flight instructor reported any mechanical deficiencies with the airplane prior to or during the flight.
