Incident Overview
A pilot reported losing control of the aircraft during rotation for liftoff. The airplane veered off the right side of the runway, crossed a grass infield area, and collided with a wall and a fence.
Pilot Experience
The pilot had recently purchased the airplane and accrued only 6 hours of flight time in the D55. His prior multiengine experience was obtained in a Cessna 310.
Aircraft Examination
An FAA inspector examined the airplane and found no mechanical discrepancies with the controls, brakes, or engines. The pilot also reported no mechanical malfunctions or failures during the flight.
Tire Track Evidence
Tire tracks were identified leading from the approach end of the runway to the aircraft's resting point. The tracks started with both main landing gear and nose wheel impressions. At a point 600 feet from the beginning of the takeoff roll, the nose tire track disappeared, and the main gear tracks deviated sharply to the right, continuing to the brick wall.
Conclusion
The pilot's loss of control during rotation resulted in a runway excursion and collision with obstacles. No mechanical issues were identified.
