Event Description
The pilot reported that during the landing, he felt the rudder pedals vibrating. After the airplane settled, he heard the propellers striking the runway surface. The airplane then veered to the right of the runway centerline and struck a runway light.
Inspection Findings
An FAA inspector witnessed a landing gear swing test, and stated that no discrepancies were noted during the test. Additionally, the landing gear warning light and horn systems were found to function normally. No preexisting anomalies were identified in the aircraft systems or structure.
Damage Assessment
The impact with the runway light punctured the pressure bulkhead. Other damage included the right engine air scoop cowling, right wing leading edge, flaps, gear doors, bottom antennas, pitot tube, and right spinner.
