What happened
While operating in the cruise phase of flight, a helicopter collided with power lines. The impact resulted in the aircraft being destroyed by a post-impact fire. At the time of the accident, the pilot was engaged in the purpose of herding cattle at one of the local ranches.
The incident was brought to light when the local fire department received notification regarding a fire and downed power lines in the area. Before arriving at the scene, the fire department had no prior knowledge that an aircraft accident had occurred. Upon their arrival, emergency responders observed the helicopter positioned in the middle of the fire.
