Incident Summary
During the landing roll, the airplane nosed over after experiencing a loss of directional control. The pilot had obtained the local Automated Weather Observing System (AWOS) information prior to landing.
Pilot Report
The pilot reported that the AWOS initially indicated winds from 150 degrees at 9 knots, later revised to 140 degrees at 8 knots. The AWOS also noted that runway 12/30 was closed for maintenance, prompting the pilot to land on runway 22. After touchdown, the airplane weathervaned into the wind and departed the left side of the runway. The pilot applied right rudder and brakes while on the grass in an attempt to realign the airplane with the runway heading. The airplane then ground looped to the right and subsequently nosed over.

The 1305 weather observation at the airport (SDA) reported winds from 110 degrees at 8 knots.
Post-Accident Findings
Following the accident, the right brake was found locked. Skid marks from the right main landing gear were visible on the runway surface.
