Event Overview
A landing accident occurred when an airplane veered off the runway and nosed over in soft ground. The pilot subsequently acknowledged that the accident resulted from pilot error.
Sequence of Events
During the landing, the airplane bounced. The pilot did not pull the elevator control stick aft far enough, and the airplane bounced again. After the second bounce, the pilot increased engine power in an attempt to recover from the bounced landing. During this recovery attempt, the pilot lost directional control of the airplane. The airplane then veered off the runway and nosed over in the soft ground adjacent to the runway.

The runway was 4,401 feet long and 75 feet wide. The surface wind was calm at the time of the accident.
